Artwork Revealed- Imperator Graces a Cover

At the 40k Open Day you never quite know what you're going to see.  There's always a bombshell or two.

One of the new revealed artworks for 2017 features nothing short of a titanic proportion.  This time, it's in the form of an Imperator Titan, and it looks angry and like it's causing a stir.  The book is called Binary Succession and the cover alone seems to indicate that Mars isn't too happy, that, or something has turned south in a hurry.

Big thanks to Drake for getting us this information in concert with the Battle Bunnies blog.

What do you guys think?  And does this have any of you itching to see an Imperator on a tabletop near you now?

  1. Man that's awesome!

As far as seeing them on the tabletop - possible in epic if they bring it back (looks like they might).

When I read Mechanicum I got the impression that even the Moderati in Calvera's Warlord were looking up at the Mortis Imperator in total awe and that if they attacked it, it was likely to destroy their entire battlegroup, one of the reasons they were hesitant to attack even though it was crossing the Tempest Line. So I think at 40k scale you'd have better luck dressing up as a Titan and standing on the tabletop yourself if you are waiting for FW to put one out in resin ;)

    1. Maybe they will release a resin "imperator class Titan suite" you could wear. XD
