Warlord Titan "Raptor Astra" Walks!
Warlord No.258 came up for sale at a great price and was already built and painted to an excellent standard (seen below) but the blue was slightly different from Siph's own Astorum Blue (Kantor Blue) so this God Engine has undergone the Rites of Colour for the third time.
The mighty Sunfury Plasma Annihilator ready to unleash a caged sun to incinerate the enemies of the Emperor and Omnissiah.

At the rear you can see the preserved yellow Pauldron armour plates from the original scheme, the front panels however where re-painted blue. The Princeps is quietly having a break on the rear boarding platform...
Maybe a Tabac smoker or grabbing some fresh air/smell of burnt enemies?
The rear of the banner, designed and printed by Drake Seta from our own Titan Owners Club. Some Knight House Malinax debris from the latest vanquished foe on the base.
The head has been swapped out from the original Mars Alpha and Warlord "Ex-Noctia" No.10 already has that style for a Mars-Beta from Warhammer World.
The Heraldic Shields used the now OOP Legio Astorum Titan decals from Forgeworld.
The black sun eclipse motif of Legio Astorum, from the FW decals and extended by overpainting to the edge. These are designed for the Shoulder pads.
Legio Astorum often adorn the Titans with star maps to show the battle honours, depicting previous battles and conquests.
The head cowling armour in the black and white scheme, a nice nod to the previous owner and scheme before that (once was painted Mortis and then stripped).
Here is "Raptor Astra" leading the charge alongside "Dominus Victoria" (L) and "Ex-Noctia" (R). The spearhead of Legio Astorum's "Emperor's Halo" Maniple. Also armed with an Arioch Power Claw with in-built Vulcan Mega Bolter array.
And if you wondered how these get transported to events, you can see the magnetised parts and spare weapon option. All interchangeable between all the Warlords Siph has. The waist is also magnetised which means a much easier transportation broken down into bubble-wrapped pieces.

SIPH's WORK IN PROGRESS PHOTOS:
The blue is being re-done to match the existing Maniple Titans in Princeps Seniores Siph's forces. You can see the different blue yet to be addressed on the Shoulder Pauldron and Shins. The large yellow front Glacis panels on the Shoulders have been replaced with blues like Siph's other Warlords.
Here is the re-painted Blues to match Princeps Siph's other Titans, and green power cables common across his Titan Maniple.
Here you can see the warmer gold of the repainted armourTitan Owners Club
Stripped Titan? I can't imagine not only having to build and paint a warlord, but also before you even begin having to strip it back to its original state. My hat off to you sir! I look forward to seeing your progress.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I rushed it the first time around, so rather than buy another one, I stripped this one back. Now I'm about to start afresh and hopefully this time do justice to such a wonderful kit.
