Comments: Gladius Nocturnis was a real delight to paint. Keeping the theme but looking for ways to distinguish it from it's brother-engine Corona Muralis was fun, and tying it into my Stygies colour scheme has been delightful.

  1. I like the picture on the bottom of the display cabinets, they look like caged animals

    1. Thanks mate, it was a bucketload of fun uncaging them for a battle a week or two after I finished Gladius Nocturnis as well - it's just a shame that Glory Rekindled is too big for the display cabinet!

  2. I do love the support the newest warhound is getting, the forgeworld bastions in particular are just killer, mate! Can't believe I haven't seen a unified bastion with those sorts of adornments before (I gotta take a look at Glory Rekindled pretty quick).

Man, the mottled red does look fantastic with the smoother lines of steel and white on the head and that base really works. The green delineation and scattered posters help break up a base and still give it a nice scale too.

And Siph Horridus nailed what I couldn't quite verbalize, that last picture does make them look like caged beasts. Very cool.

    1. Very much appreciated Finepoint Esquire, the bastions in that configuration I was inspired to do after a really well supported event at The House of War in Ringwood Vic (A really top notch venue!) - although the banners I had been thinking about for a while!

Playing with those posters has been a blast, I've left off doing it for much too long and had the A4 pages sitting on a shelf unused - so frankly there was no better model for me to fix that with!

  3. Wow - that's really the whole package - great paintjob, base and pose! I really love the flowing banners on the bastions - you should think about adorning your engines with some too! :)
