Way back when, Shadow was working on his Warlord Titan and all sorts of articles were created to show you how the build was accomplished. It's been quite some time since Forge World dropped Warlord weapons on us that Shadow could review and today we're diving into the Mori Quake Cannon. This tutorial assumes that you've already cleaned the release agent from the parts, as well as removed the gates and flash. Like usual, Shadow has done this in his own order, not 100 percent following the Forge World instructions but all based around simplicity and multiple steps going concurrently.
Materials Needed:
- Super glue
- JB Weld
- Q-tips (to wipe away excess JB Weld on areas that will be visible)
- Drill (for magnets)
Step 1: Score all of the parts that are going to interlock together. There are a few on this particular kit in terms of large areas. These include the elbow to the main body, the ammo hopper pieces, the barrel meeting the main body, etc.
Step 2: Use JB Weld on the elbow to main body assembly and put the two pieces together. You can let gravity do the work of holding those together. At the same time, use JB Weld on the ammo hopper and assemble the two parts, once again you can let gravity do the work after you have them in place.
DO NOT use super glue here. That elbow assembly is holding the entire weight of the weapon and the ammo hopper will be under more stress in Step 3 than you would expect.
Step 3: Allow the parts from Step 2 to fully cure then use the JB Weld to attach them to one another. You'll need to clamp these together while it cures and the ammo hopper in particular could pop open if it's not fully cured or using a weaker adhesive material. (Shadow didn't try super glue with the hopper but the creaking sound it gave off made him glad he didn't)
While this step is curing you can actually glue the sub-hoses and main hose into place. Super glue would be perfectly fine for the hoses.
Step 4: Use super glue to set the stabilizers in location. These are located behind the hoses you attached in Step 3. You can potentially do these at the same time, but there's so much going on in Step 3 we did these separately to make things easier and not knock stuff around.
Step 5: Use JB Weld to attach the bottom guide rail and the barrel to the main body. Set it upright and walk away, gravity will do the rest.
Step 6: Allow the parts in Step 5 to fully cure. Attach the gun shield bracket to the arm on the side necessary for the arm you choose. You're now left with a completed gun and gun shield.
Note: You could use super glue here, but Shadow chose the JB Weld thinking a hard enough hit to the shield might jar the bracket loose.
Step 7: Paint, assemble shield and gun with super glue, and rock your opponent's face off.
We hope you've enjoyed this tutorial and find it useful.
