Behind the Scenes - 2021 and Shadow's Thoughts

In our Behind the Scenes article series we lift the curtain and show you what goes on for Titan Owners Club in the background and we're going to continue the blogging world year-end tradition, something we've been doing since 2018. Still around, still thinking, and throwing a slice of "normal" back at you.

DISCLAIMER: The opinions expressed in this article are NOT implied to be the opinions of the entire TOC staff and are the personal thoughts laid out by Shadow.

Unshackled thoughts again, so "I" instead of "we" this time around.  For the uninitiated with why that's so important it's because a lot of times you'll see "we" because the staff are close-knit and work together really well, often knowing what projects the others are working on.

Anyway, year-end tradition and I enjoy this, so I'll do my normal here.  Going to talk about how the year went, hopefully a bit of the future, and then things on the personal level I wish to work on.  Two years ago we went feet first, last year it was eyes up, and this year we'll have a conversation that reaches The Nine [C'MON MAN!  Another Bungie reference!!!!! - Yes ;) ].

2021 in Review

This year was a lot more normal!!!!  Things got back to where we could do events [You can just hear the crowd cheering, right?] and see one another.  We're still dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic [enough about that] but we're thriving.  We've also had a very healthy backlog and we're pretty well booked on posts until at least the end of May 2022.  We're in good stead, will hit the 700 Titan mark before the middle of next year, and keep rumbling along.  So, what did 2021 bring us?
  • Two (2) events in the UK and three (3) events in the US.
  • Continued adding to the Global Battlefield and did a few refreshes.
    • There will probably be an update in early 2022 but we're waiting on some new data and seeing how things shift.
  • Continued to work on the global Facebook page.
  • Announced a new US Branch Chairman [We had another change]
  • Picked up new staff and elevated Princeps Shark to the Admin Staff.
  • Continued, expanded, and massively updgraded the Adeptus Titanicast Podcast series.
  • Did a ton of reviews for Games Workshop this year, beyond just Adeptus Titanicus.
We were pretty busy this time around. And. I. LOVE IT!  😁😁

2021- the Future

I should say NOPE!!!! after everything we went through in 2020 and learning my lesson from 2019 to 2020...but I'm a sucker for having my normal back right now.  That said, the list is surprisingly light.  What do we want to do in 2021 (a bit of we this time as the staff on the whole tends to get involved here):
  • Keep the events going.  No-brainer there, right?  You guys enjoy them.
  • Keep reviewing Adeptus Titanicus and any of the other stuff GW sends our way.
  • Continue expanding and upgrading the podcast, especially the Titan Owner Interviews.
  • Get some more Adeptus Titanicus content up there while also restoring Titan Tactica and Literature Reviews

The Wishlist

The time-honored tradition for hobby blogs is still here!  The wishlist for next year.  Just a reminder, I have no insider knowledge and this is just hopeful idiocy.
  • 9th Edition void shield tweaks, please?  They aren't bad since they're an improvement over 8th, but they need some work.
  • I want a stratagem that lets you reignite downed void shields!!!!!  SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!
  • Just like the Mori, I'll harp on this, but can we please get expanded 40k/30k weapon options for the Warhound?  A guy can dream.  Ursus Claws!!!
  • The return of the Lucius Warhound, be it plastic or resin.
  • Xenos Titan love.
  • Warmaster Titan in 28mm.  😁😁😁😁😁😁
I've ranted and raved enough and it's honestly the part of the article where I shut up and let you guys hit up the comments section.  What do you guys think?  How was your 2021 in TOC?  Your wishlists or thoughts?  I will see you guys in another article and can't wait to read the comments as I prep for 2022......PUT THAT DUCT TAPE AWAY!!!!  I'M GOING, I'M GOING!!!!  *pads off in Shadow so you can comment*
