Comments:  The original name of the Warhound Titan Purgator Ignis has been expunged from the records of the Legio Ignatum, and carries with it a mark of dishonor that no Princeps would want to bear. In the wake of the Horus Heresy, the scattered forces of the arch-traitor Horus were to be purged from the galaxy, and it was on Cerix Magnus that the Legio Ignatum cornered a Reaver Titan of Legio Mortis hiding among an industrial sector. Scouting forward throughout the streets to draw out any infantry support forces, the Warhound that was to become Pugator Ignis spotted the Reaver on auspex, and with the Princeps unable to calm the spirit of the engine, bolted forward to engage, loosing shots from it's turbo-laser as it ducked between buldings. As the rest of the battlegroup drew into the urban area to join the overly-aggressive Warhound, they realized they had been lured into a trap. Dozens of infantry heavy weapon teams emerged from hiding and crippled two Ignatum Reavers and a Warlord before they were destroyed. The Warhound received crippling leg damage as well, and had to watch as their quarry fled.

The Titans were salvaged, however the entire crew of the Warhound had taken their own lives in shame. In addition, even after the titan's name was changed to Purgator Ingis and reconsecrated, the location where the Warhound's leg was damaged by a multi-melta was never truly able to be repaired, with the paint bubbling and cracking over the site within hours each time. Too impulsive to be trusted with titan-killing weapons, its armament was replaced with inferno guns, so that it's machine spirit can cleanse it's dishonor through bringing purifying flame to those who would seek to ambush his Legio again.

(Since this Titan was an eBay rescue that needed to be reconsecrated, I felt that it needed an appropriate backstory...)
