Tutorial for Cracked Earth Bases for Titans

Cracked and dried earth bases provide a very amazing look to any base.  But as you get to large models (and none come larger than the Titans) it becomes a much harder effect to create that is both durable and looks right.  David offered this up to his fellow Titan owners:

This is the materials used to give wood the cracked effect-


The wood base + detritus : warhound base used for picture-


Application of cracking medium -


Painting with B&Q Martian Ironearth matched paint -


Ryza Rust on detritus -



Finished bases with a Agrax Earthshade wash -

Mars Warhound No2624 - Morte Velox, Legio Praetor

Owner: David B
Location: Worcestershire, UK.
Comments: Its name translates to “Quick Death”.
Oldest titan in service to the legio.
Arm weapons are magnetized to allow removal and changing if desired.

Legio Praetor motto - "Mortem et victoriam de longe." (Death and victory from
afar.)

Notable Kills:
1 x Warlord Titan. ( My close friend was commanding it at the time. The warlord was a home-made creation and had had its voids stripped but in single glorious volley managed to remove 33Hp from it.) - {WOW!! That is a mean dog! - TOC}.
