Princeps Steven forgot to take any photos of the build process, however he decided to go for an OSL effect on the interior rather than full painting - it's something he does for all his Knight Scions before they are sealed in too.

Comments: Hi, another major bucket list item ticked off, after the Titans and the Stormbird. I've always had my sights set on the Thunderhawk. Pretty straightforward out of the box build. Magnetised the doors, Heavy Bolter turrets and attack wings so they open and close. The Pilots were a tricky one, they came with much later Mk7 / 8 pilots unlike the Stormbird which had a Heresy era crew. So kept the resin bodies and added left over Warder Helmets and old plastic Rhino pintle gunner arms so I could use older shoulder pads without using the supplied resin Techmarine / Mech symbol ones. Filed the knee pads a bit and hoped it fits more with 30k era! Really enjoyed this project it was worth the 20 year wait it took to get one. I haven't properly gamed with it yet, but I always take it with me for eye candy shots. Like Titans, they don't get seen in the wild too often.

Forge World no longer includes Certificates with the MK2 which is unfortunate.

Comments: I wanted to share some of my work in progress pics of my Stormbird. Been a labour of love over the last year and a half or so. The majority of work went on the actual build and painting inside the craft rather than externally which was fairly straightforward. I magnetised the side doors and rear ramp to open and close and while I was at it with magnets I made the canopy and nose fully removable as I didn't want to forever lose the details hidden in there and also did the Heavy Bolters underslung on the wings to rotate.

TOCs own Goddenzilla stepped in and helped me out by modifying the Landing Gear as it seemed too fragile for its many Kg's of mass. He replaced the main pistons with brass rod. And further modified the support struts and pinned them. Quite a chunk of work I massively appreciate.

I also heavily modified a Rhino for the cargo bay which was a lot more work than I realised it would be, making changes to the track width and exhausts to make it removable.
Also managed to track down some legit Forge World Land Raider doors for it and made some subtle changes to them to suit being on a flyer. (The vents and purity seals had to go)

My next plan is to finish the Sokar Stormbird and do a landing pad for it and also do a flight stand for it.

Comments: After 4 years of hard work, a partly painted Ira Metallum finally made her first outing at the Titan Owner's Club Walk in November 2022, then again at Beachhead 2023 in Bournemouth. She burned many traitor engines at both events and will be sure to make many more Engine kills in the future! Painting was finally completed in time for Ira Metallum to go on display alongside the Titan Owner's Club mega game at Warhammer Fest 2023 in Manchester, UK.
