Update Warhound No4286- Sussuri Mortem, 3-7-16

Sussuri Mortem has now hit the complete stage!  Dan passed along some excellent news to us in order to share with the TOC at large:

"Hey guys,

Here are pics of the Mortis engine in her complete state (for a given value of complete) along with a couple of shots with the explorator force who found her."

Dan is even working on a little extra story for later on, so stay tuned. - TOC

COMPLETED PICTURES

Sussuri Mortem shall not want for ground protection.

Very beautiful work on the heat staining to the turbo.

She stands tall and proud, but ready for war.

The decal work on the carapace is amazing.  It tells a story and lists her long and tumultuous history.  Very well executed and very rich colors.

Engine up to date as of 3-7-16

Congrats on completing your Warhound. - TOC

  1. Well done, lovely work, and rich reds befitting of a Mechanicus assigned Engine.

  2. Thanks Siph! I know it's not the masterwork some of the engines here are (yours included!), but given my (slowly improving) skill level, I'm pleased with how it came out, and I learned a lot during the process. This board really helped push me in a lot of ways, both the encouragement of others during the process and seeing all these amazing engines! The site seems like it is starting to really take off (I love the new site design) and I'm really looking forward to seeing the progress that others are making!

I've got a few smaller kits to finish off, but I think a Reaver will be up next. Obviously, TOC will be the first to know about it when that happens!

    1. Thanks a ton man! I hit a point with the transfers where I was like, well I just have to keep going at this point or repaint the whole thing!

  5. Wow such depth and richness in colour, and a totally original and excellent use of transfers to bring the unique engine to life. Great work!

    1. Thanks Nic! I really appreciate the comment! I had a ton of fun doing this. I'm torn - I'm either going to do a Reaver or an Ordinatus next. I'll probably wind up doing the Reaver. I am not sure yet if I will stick with the same Legio - the backstory to my army is an explorator fleet, so it's possible the next engine they find will be from a wholly different Legio. Ah, decisions, decisions!
