Warhammer Fest 2017- Titan Hangar Diorama

The Warlord in the Titan hangar has been revealed at Warhammer Fest 2017!  Images coming from Drake this morning as he and Col. Hertford are live and on site.

The new Sector Mechanicus terrain is aptly used here, and several of the Mechanicus models are involved.

A high ranking Magos oversees the rites being performed on the Warlord.

The hangar in its entirety.  Such a massive diorama.

So many parts they converted this from.  Can you name them all?

The Princeps and crew look on as their engine is being serviced and prepared.

An Arch-Magos Dominus looks on.  Could that be Cawl himself?

So much activity and a sense of story.  The Titan is clearly the centerpiece but doesn't dominate the diorama.  You could search for hours for little details and keep finding new things.

Great weathering on the terrain and very subtle conversions that let you see the original kit used but giving the diorama the distinctly Mechanicus feel.

Let us know what you think of the diorama in the comments section.

    1. Imperial Hunters. The Engine is in the process of being prepared for war (Insignia and all).

    2. Very fitting they put the Sunfury on it since in the new Walord novel all of the Imperial Hunters Warlords use it

  2. It's great, I took ages looking around the rear and sides of this, so much great details. That last photo shows a Genecult operative?!

    1. You are correct. I don't think it's meant to flat out be one, but you can definitely tell it is the base model for what is likely a conversion.

  3. Looking closely at at lot of the detail, they fell into the novice airbrusher's trap of not following up with fine detailing and washes. You can see that a lot of the molded detail on the walls and building bits hasn't been paid attention to (lamps on the cathedral wall bits, control panels and conduits on the sector mechanicus stuff, even the detailing on the titan). It's a fine model, but compared to some of their other works, only a C+ job paint wise. Yes, it's huge, but they've got a studio's worth of people to work on it, too. I love the modeling work, but the painting leaves lot to be desired.
