Adeptus Titanicus- New Warlord Option

During the lead up to Adeptus Titanicus we were told that eventually we'd see upgrade options to expand our Titans.  The trend on each Titan has been three sprues, one of which contains the Titans' weapons.  Unfortunately, today's news out of Warhammer Community has brought hope and despair.

You are reading that correctly.  We are getting two new kits for AT this month.  A Warlord that has the laser blasters, plasma annihilators, and Arioch claw.  However, it's a full kit, and NOT an upgrade sprue.  In time, we can see the weapon sprues being made available separately, but for now, you still need to buy an entire Warlord to get the new weapons.

A bit more hope though is to look at the image below (courtesy of Warhammer Community).

The head is clearly the Mars-Beta.  But the tilting plates are gone in favor of something we haven't seen in years.  Those shoulder fillers were shown off a long time ago with a head that Forge World never released.  Could we finally be seeing it come to fruition in 28mm scale soon?  Or is this just an option for AT?

Of course, it's possible that head won't even be in the new kit, so there is a lot of limbo to be sorted out.  We'll let you know what we find out if we hear anything.  In other good news: Lancers are coming to AT!

Let us know what you think in the comments below.

  2. I like the Carapace infills, here’s hoping for a 28mm Head and Infills kit. The head probably didn’t make the cut though, too retro chunky perhaps, lacking detail, and the Beta Head has been made in 28mm so the CAD existed for AT scale.

    1. I agree the the infills are nice. I prefer the titling plates (at least the Mars ones, not a fan of the Lucius set at all), but the infills honestly don't look bad at all.

Now that you mention how "chunky" the alternate head is, I can see what you mean every time I look at it. It has promise to it, so maybe if they just work on modifying it a bit?

    2. I love the infills - that's one of the things I've been holding out for! Still not sure about the head, but it is clearly a nod to the original Beetleback MK1's of yesteryear. Take a look at the middle titan in the image below - the shape is clearly a homage to it! :)
