Doom of Molech: What’s In the Book
The new expansion for Adeptus Titanicus: The Horus Heresy is almost here. On Saturday, you’ll be able to pre-order Doom of Molech for yourself – so it’s a good time to take a look at what you’ll find within its covers.
The Battle of Molech
Read all about Horus’ invasion of the Knight world of Molech, as he seeks power and unleashes vast armies of Space Marines, Knights and Titans to try and gain it. It’s a tale of treachery, tragedy and triumph – and if you want a longer version, check out Graham McNeill’s epic novel Vengeful Spirit.
Titan Legions at Molech
Discover the background and colour schemes for four new Titan Legions – Legio Vulcanum, Legio Crucius, Legio Fortidus and Legio Interfector. Each of them also has new rules allowing you to represent them in your games, such as this cracking trait for Legio Fortidus, also known as the Dauntless.
Titan Maniples
A pair of new maniples give you new ways to organise your battlegroup. The Fortis Battle Maniple allows Warlord and Reaver to merge void shields and ignore armour modifiers, making an incredible defensive bulwark, while the Ferrox Light Maniple is perfect for Princeps who like to take the fight to close quarters.
Knight Households don’t only support their larger Titan cousins – they often fight as full armies in their own right, noble leaders mustering dozens of their kin to take on fearsome foes for the glory of their House. And these detailed new rules allow you to do just that, taking an entire Knight army onto the battlefield.
As well as modifications to the rules for support banners and army creation, this section includes Stratagems and objectives that allow your Knights to go toe-to-toe against Titans and emerge victorious.
Knight Houses of Molech
With Knightly armies now possible, you’ll want to add character to your Households – and here you’ll find background and rules (as well as colour schemes) for no fewer than seven of the Knight Houses who fought on Molech.
Each House gets a set of three Knightly Qualities to customise their characters. These epitomise the nature of the House, and give you loads of new options in your games. For example, House Devine, whose treachery changed the fate of Molech, have options that revolve around their pride and hidden loyalties.
Narrative Missions: Doom of Molech
See if you can change the fate of Molech in six narrative play missions that allow you to recreate key moments from the campaign, allowing you to refight the most pivotal battles in the name of the Emperor or the Warmaster. These missions include a mix of Titan Legions and Knight Households, making them the perfect way to get to grips with the new rules found in this book.
Appendices
A trio of appendices give you new battlefield conditions to fight over, representing the war-torn cities, volcanic caldera and beast-filled jungles of Molech. These can be incorporated into any of your games, providing new challenges.
There’s also a new matched play mission that sends parties of Knights on a hunting expedition, with three different great beasts to track and capture before your opponent does.
Finally, a range of new Stratagems complement and expand the ones in the Adeptus Titanicus rulebook, allowing you to bring experimental weapons, ranged support and new tertiary objectives to bear. There are 34 new Stratagems to choose from, including a range unique to Loyalists and others that can only be chosen by Traitors, making your choice of allegiance more important and meaningful than ever.
You’ll find all of this in Doom of Molech, which you can pre-order from Saturday. In the meantime, you can brush up on the background to the battle in Vengeful Spirit, and start getting your Knight Household ready with boxes of Questoris Knights and Cerastus Knights – grab yours now.
