Warlord Macro Gatling Blaster Unboxing

Hello Princeps, today as a end of year treat I thought I would share with you my Warlord Macro Gatling Blasters that arrived so I can show what you can expect from the FW box of goodness. The usual presentation we get for Warlord weapons, complete with the barcode and QR code.
Yes I bought two, had too, a "Dakka-Titan" is a dream of mine, I'm now awaiting the carapace Battle Titan Gatling Blasters, currently in AT scale but the CAD is done so they should be released forthwith, we at TOC will let you know as soon as they do! A dual Gatling Blaster, dual Macro Gatling Blaster titan will make me want to buy a second Warlord!
Inside there is a colour instruction leaflet, a vast improvement over the Warhound and Reaver instructions, stage by stage and a kit list too.
The first thing I did was check all the parts and check for damage or warpage - none detected, all great and if in doubt, give FW a call and their customer service is brilliant, they will replace any faults.
I noticed that the Ammo Magazine was hollow, a weight improvement and opportunity for some hobbyists who could mount a motor and battery pack to drive a rotary drive for the barrels...
Next the bags of resin krak, joy!
The smaller bag contained the barrels and rotary drum plus separately packed in bubble wrap two barrel supports.
The larger bag of the two contained the main gun assembly, magazine and two armour panels, with the added bonus that these can be kept off separately for painting ease. I do like the ammo feed and the glimpse of the shells as they are fed into the gun.
Here is a close up of the hollow magazine, plenty of space for a battery pack, small motor and a switch.
The spent shell casings are ejected through the ejection port underneath. The barrels are rotated using the barrel rotating assembly on the bottom left
A close up of the rotating gear shows a cog gear to mesh with the cylinder gear on the barrels
A clever design feature is the resin vent is hidden in the space the rotating gear sits
The Ammo Hopper
The Armoured Cowling can be left off for assembly and ease of painting
The main weapon piece shows the ammo feed belt from the magazine into the top barrel where a piston rams in the shell, then the barrels rotate and fired at the six o'clock position where the shell casing is ejected, and then the barrels rotate up the other side, presumed checked clear and doused before being loaded again,
Finally, for the curious Reaver Titan Princeps out there, here is a size comparison between the Reaver Gatling Blaster and the Warlord Macro Gatling Blaster - a colossus of a weapon!

This kit was extremely well designed and you can tell how tightly the parts are meant to fit together.  The modular way this kit was done will make painting easier, minimal clean up required and importantly the barrels are all straight.

And from all of us at TOC, a Happy New Titan-filled Year! May your reactors burn hot and your aim stay true, stay out of the red and in the blue!

Cheers, Princeps Majoris Siph, EUR/UK Admin.

  1. A quad Blaster warlord sounds like a nice idea... that starts an itch that might need scratching. Happy New Year to all princeps and crew out there.
