Update to Titans? Confirmed Forge World Rules Updates

The Las Vegas Open is one of the opportunities to find out what GW is working on and them pulling the curtain back a bit for us.  It's almost like their version of our behind the scenes articles (you might even hear Shadow hissing right now because he still doesn't have his Mori he wished for in the last BTS).  Of course the previews are always great and a lot stood out.  One thing was brief in the LVO preview but was expanded upon a bit this morning.

Yep!  The 2017 Forge World indices are getting a refresh.  But what's great about this is that they aren't just a refresh of the indices.  The indicators are that we are getting brand new books.  Hopefully this means a glorious return of the Imperial Armour series!  The big question as it pertains to our lovely and loved Titans remains though:

What will they do?  Will they receive new abilities?  Will void shields be re-worked to their more classical nature?  Points drops?  And that's where we'll have to be patient.

Thoughts?  Hit us up in the comments.

  1. Since I am not a gamer per say, I have not bought the previous books as the titans are a bit scattered all over the series and I could not figure out which books contained what. But if they put out a new Titans only tome I would be interested.

  2. Void Shields ought to be a regenerating pool of wounds that have to be knocked down before doinbg actual damage to the titan. Being voids though, they ought not to have any saves themselves.

Macro weapons need a rethink- They are intended to do a lot of damage when they hit, but the all or nothing approach of inv saves means that giving them high damage values is still swingy, so doubling damage vs Titanic targets is supposed to make up for the cancelled shots. Maybe if they made it less swingy, perhaps have macro weapon targets have to roll saves vs each point of damage instead of vs the single hit? Then some damage could bleed through even high invuls. Been thinking about how that would feel, not sure. More consistent but lesser damage from big guns, or having some shots fully blocked but others hit like a brick?
