Welcome back, oathbreaker, to our coverage of the new Chaos Knights codex. We continue today with the Warlord Traits, Relics, and Crusade rules for the new book.

WARLORD TRAITS

We’re going to go through these pretty quickly:

· Eager for the Kill – 1 to advance and charge rolls, +1 to attacks in enemy deployment zone

· Harbinger of Scrapcode – Make enemies take Dread tests and there are effects associated with failure.

· Warp-haunted Hull – Deny the Witch ability and FNP against Psychic wounds

· Knight Diabolus - +1 attack and melee re-roll ability

· Infernal Quest – ObSec

· Aura of Terror – Morale and Dread tests roll an extra die and discard the lowest result.

RELICS

Fourteen relics in this codex, not counting the Household specific ones. Some of our favorites are:

· Veil of Medrengard – Modified invulnerable saves

· Rune of Nak’t’graa – Allows a single Dreadblade to pick up a Fell Bond

· Helm of Dogs - +1 attack and bonuses to War Dogs

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES

Not to be mean here, but like every other codex of late it’s just “meh”.

CRUSADE

Crusade continues to be a lot of fun. However, we’re going to keep this one simple.

Yes, you still earn experience and pick up Battle Honours, Battle Scars, etc. However, this time you’re not building up supreme characters so much as you are different fallen Scions. The Circles of Damnation are your path to upgrades here and it’s just a matter of time as you rack up some pretty cool bonuses. What does it take to earn this, though? Carnage and blood. You have to kill units with your Chaos Knights and earn multiple kills. You’ll constantly be in the fight with these guys.

DREAD TESTS

We mentioned them earlier, but what are they?

Dread Tests are 2D6 tests in a similar vein to Morale. Your opponent rolls this against the highest Leadership in their unit and rolling higher than their Leadership is a failed test.
