We’re continuing our coverage of Shadow and Iron with another Titan Legion, the Legio Lysanda. Known as the Sentinels of the Edge, this patient Titan Legion balances risks and rewards with a measured and thoughtful mind. Full rules can be found in the Shadow and Iron supplement.
Legion Traits
Patient Beyond Measure: This Legio trait allows a Legio Lysanda player to deploy their entire force before their opponent can deploy a single unit. While this comes at the expense of the opponent automatically winning the roll-off for the first round, Lysanda players receive modifiers to their Hit and Command rolls during the first round. Risk-reward at its finest.
Stillness of Mind: Legio Lysanda Titans receive bonuses when rolling to see if Shutdown orders are removed from their Titans.
Legio Specific Stratagem
Frontier Guard: The patience nurtured by the Legio means that they are used to forgoing glory while ensuring that a strong line of defense is left to guard critical or newly capture objectives. This stratagem provides a one-round buff to the BS and WS of Titans within 6” of objective markers.
Legio Specific Wargear
Mantle of Responsibility: This pointed Wargear allows a Legio Lysanda Titan to re-roll specific results when taking a Command Check.
Legio Specific Princeps Seniores Personal Traits
Harrowed by Betrayal: This trait allows the Princeps Seniores to choose Wrathful on the Awakened Machine Spirit table.
Serene: This Titan can ignore Command check modifiers and cannot be forced to re-roll the results.
Vanguard Leader: Such is the nature of this Trait that friendly Lysanda Titans can boost their movement without pushing the reactor.
While the rules for this Legio are relatively “safe” and don’t pack hard-hitting firepower, they will allow you to provide a reliable and stalwart line in your games, befitting the fluff of the Legio Lysanda.
