Adeptus Titanicus - Bring your Choom (Not Your Cyberpunk Buddies)

This is most unexpected and most glorious news!  Really, we get volkite on a Titan!?!?

First introduced in the Age of Darkness (Horus Heresy) game, volkite weapons deal explosive death to your enemies by basically turning them into combustible bags of meat.  These weapons were truly horrific and were second only to rad weaponry in terms of destructive ability and cruelty.  Or, as WarCom put it:

"In simple terms, volkite weapons are heat rays. They fire beams of energy that set unprotected targets – like squishy humans – on fire. When scaled up to Titan size, they are terrifyingly effective at taking down void shields, as they superheat the protective energy barriers and pop them out of existence."

So, what can we expect?  Volkite eradicators for Warhounds and Reavers and then the volkite destructors for Warlords.

A think somewhere we just heard a Tech-Priest's heart ACTUALLY BEAT!

We were even clued in to how they'll work in game.  Volkite weapons are not great at harming Titans (though a Warhound could feel it when the fire is concentrated enough), but void shields are a completely different matter altogether.

  • Both weapon classes get three (3) dice per attack.
  • The Warhound and Reaver class volkite has a range of 20”, while the Warlord's arm weapon reaches out to 24”.
  • Both classes have Voidbreaker (2), meaning that for every hit, the target has to roll an additional 2 shield saves.

This thing will be a shield-stripper that might give even the Vulcan Mega-Bolter a serious run for its money.

Even more fun is the fact the Warlord’s volkite destructor can also be fired as a Beam (1) weapon, but this does come at the cost of using the Draining trait. The upside: potentially hitting up to three models in a single direct line of fire. However, each target has to be destroyed to allow the beam to move on to another, so this will really only be good against weakened Knights.  We don't think it's going to be used too often since it's so situational.

These will be coming out through Forge World and no release date has been given.  Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Mori Quake Cannon Unboxing

Nineteen (19) grueling months after the renders were shown and we finally have the Mori Quake Cannon available.  We got our hands on some and we have to say this is an impressive gun.

It's very well designed, has all of the detail you expect, and is very crisp with little mould line issues (which would be really weird for something brand new).

Join us later when we do our build article.

The usual white box of awesome.

Very well done and cast.

New Titan Options - BIG BOOM!

Nineteen (19) months have finally been rewarded.  The faithful of the Omnissiah and the Titan Legions can finally pre-order the Mori Quake Cannon on Friday.  It's time for the big boom (yes, that was your wallet crying and Shadow making his Mythbusters reference you just heard)

Glorious, isn't it!  Full-scale, 28mm cannon of death.

Did we mention that isn't the only big boom this week?  Though, it's less boom and more laser of death.  Meet the Nemesis Warbringer with Belicosa Volcano Cannon.

So, it looks like this Titan just upped the ante considerably.  And that's BEFORE you consider the new Warbringer Mars-Delta head.  We definitely dig the knightly aspect of this new one.

Now Available - Warlord Gatling Blaster

A new arm option has released for the Warlord Titan, giving you new tactical flexibility in your games of Horus Heresy and Warhammer 40,000.  The Macro Gatling Blaster hurls shells at your foes and makes them reel, praying for either a quick death or some very sturdy cover.  This weapon looks amazing is certainly a welcome addition to the arsenals of a lot of players.  You can order the new weapon at:

Adeptus Titanicus- New Release: Reaver Warp Missile Rack

The power of the warp compels you!  The power of the warp compels you!

We doubt you'll hear a servitor or a Moderatus screaming that during your games of Adeptus Titanicus, but now you can when you equip your Reaver Titan with this vicious missile weapon.

You'll have fun bypassing enemy Titan void shields to do massive damage, but remember that this deadly beauty is a one-use affair, so warp responsibly.  Excited about the new option in AT?  You can purchase it at:

Adeptus Titanicus- Tiny Warlord Arms

Today, Forge World released the Adeptus Titanicus scale AT Mori Quake Cannon and AT Warlord Macro Gatling Blaster.  The problem (at least if you're in the US) is that they've already sold out of their pre-order stock for both!  Who knew these weapons would be so popular so quickly.  We can hope that this means the 28mm scale weapons will come soon, but this is definitely good news for Titanicus players looking to vary up their Warlord's weapon loadouts.
